Swimming in Echo Lake at Ikes Point in ANP in Maine is my happy place. Each day I am met with a different experience. Will it be windy, still, foggy, clear, misty, sunny, chilly? This day I was met with still and calm, my favorite. When I dip your toe in and the water temperature is just right, I take my first stroke and the water is soft and smooth. It is like gliding through velvet. There is no effort or resistance. Each stroke seems to almost lift me off the water, moving with the water holding me up, feeling supported.
